What is the Community Space?
The driving force behind this project is creating a space for everyone. Chapelwood United Methodist Church is working to enhance their campus, providing a space for everyone to enjoy. A master plan is under development with the following goals driving the planning process:
- Create a community space for the church and surrounding community
- Provide low impact self-directed recreation activities
- Create spaces that allow for mindfulness and reflection
- Minimize ongoing maintenance needs
The church campus has long been a place where neighbors can come and enjoy the beautiful 9 acre greenspace. Currently, you will see people walking their dogs, kids kicking soccer balls, or even someone enjoying the shade of one of the massive pecan trees as they read a book. We are building on those activities and creating more opportunities for people to enjoy.

Project STATUS
A concept plan has been developed for the site and is under review. Once the review stage is complete, we will begin developing the final plan documents which include the final plan map and accompanying report.
The volunteer program for the site is under development, check in for opportunities to lend a hand.
